Sensuous Loire Valley is explored on foot. This walking tour explores centuries-old chateaux and their quaint villages.

ITINERARY

    Day 1 TOURS

• We rendezvous in the old city of Tours and proceed to out hotel for a Welcome Dinner and Introductory Talk.

    Day 2 TOURS

• We explore Tours and walk through radiant rural countryside and fields to Azay-le Rideau.

  We walk a distance of 8 miles along paths/tracks/roads.

    Day 3 CHINON

• Transfer by taxi to the chateaux at Rigny Ussm. We then walk through the peaceful Chinon Forest.

  We walk a distance of 6-7 miles along paths/tracks.

    Day 4 CHINON

• Today can be either a rest day in charming Chinon or walk through the surrounding vineyards and visit a local museum - the choice is yours !

We walk a distance of 5-7 miles along flat paths/tracks/roads. No inclines today ! There is a stop at a local vineyard for some wine sampling.

    Day 5 FONTEVRAUD TO MONTSOREAU

• We will spend time in Fontevraud known for its amazing abbey. Then we will walk to Montsoreau, a charming village on the Loire.

  We walk a distance of 9 miles along paths/tracks. There are 2 short hills in the morning and 1 steep incline in late afternoon.

    Day 6 TURQUANT TO SAUMUR

• We transfer to Turquant by taxi from where we walk through the Saumur vineyards to Saumur, with its glorious fortified chateaux located high on a cliff overlooking the Loire.

  We walk a distance of 3-5 miles along flat paths/tracks/roads. No inclines today ! There is a stop at a local vineyard for some wine sampling.

    Day 7 FINAL DAY

• Today is our final day. After breakfeast, we take a tour of Saumur and have lunch at a local cafe. After lunch, we bid everyone farewell.
