Bags 'n Boxes

1997
Edition of 5

Bags: Etchings on Dobbin Mill paper

This three-way collaboration was initiated by Helen Goldberg and her obsessive manipulation of paper bags. Upon presenting "the bag people" and three whimsical poems, Paper I, Paper II and Boxes 'n Bags by Carl Sandburg, Silverberg decided that a "grab-bag" (pun intended) bookwork seemed appropriate. Böröcz and Goldberg focused on bags, Silverberg on boxes. Together the assortment of book objects define an absurdist vision of the utilitarian.
