Tapestry Lunchbox I and II

With Christiane Wustinger and Martin Kubaczek
1994
26" x 9" x 3" and 18" x 8.5" x 2"
Unique

First in a series of paper, gobelin weaving and poetry collaborative artist books, published in 1994. The gobelin-leporello is designed and executed by Christiane Wustinger, Austria; the haiku in German is by Martin Kubaczek, Japan; watermarked cotton and iris papers, book and box construction are by Robbin Ami Silverberg, USA.

These books are dialogues between 3 different media, each with its unique perspective on text.

The haiku reads:

Du strickst in Wolle
Ich in wörten; dein Handschuh
Gegen mein Gedicht.

In 1996, Tapestry Lunchbox II was produced, with the same three collaborators (pictured above in the second and third images).
