Does he accept insurance? No, but he does get paid on a sliding scale.
How long are the sessions? 45 minutes
How long does the patient remain in therapy for? As long as the patient and the doctor deem
necessary for the specific condition. This could be as little as 3 months and will usually last no more than 2 and
1/2 years. It is possible to remain indefinatley in therapy but then it would be adviseable to find a different
therapist or kind of treatment if you have not had success. This should be a healing process and not forever.
Does the Dr. prescribe medications? No, a psychologist is not able to prescribe medications in the
state of New York. If you are interested in medications, Dr. Turchiano can recommend a psychiatrist. You will still be
able to see Dr. Thomas Turchiano for your talk therapy and the psychiatrist for your medication therapy.
