BOBST LIBRARY U.S. GOVERNMENT DOCUMENTS

New York University was designated a depository for federal documents in 1967. the collection is housed in the Business & Documents Center on the 6th floor west wing of Bobst Library. As a selective depository we currently collect approximately 67% of the documents distributed through the Federal Depository Library Program (FDLP). The faculty and students of New York University are the primary users of the depository collection, however as a depository, the collection serves New York’s 8th U.S. Congressional District in New York City and therefore, members of the public can gain access to the collection by obtaining a pass from our Access Services office: Hours & Access Note: Passes are issued specifically for the use of depository materials only.

This is an abbreviated list of the most frequently used depository documents at bobst Library. Each title may be available in both print and electronic formats.

American Statistics Index
Bethesda, MD: Congressional Information Service. Annual.
Bobst Ref6 Index shelf F ASI provides abstracts for reports issued by Federal agencies and
the Executive branch that contain statistical tables. Examples include annual reports, working papers,
articles from government journals, budgets and yearbooks. The print indexing corresponds to the ASI microfiche set
filed in the cabinets in the U.S. Documents collection.

Bureau of Economic Analysis
Online Access The BEA is an agency of the Department of Commerce. Along with the Census Bureau
and STAT-USA, BEA is part of the Department’s Economics and Statistics Administration. The mission of BEA is to produce
and disseminate accurate, timely, relevant, and cost–effective economic accounts statistics that provide government, businesses,
households, and individuals with a comprehensive, up–to–date picture of economic activity. BEA’s national, regional,
and international economic accounts present basic information on such key issues as U.S. economic growth, regional economic
development, and the nation’s position in the world economy.

A statistical compendium which covers a wide variety of topics, including population, vital statistics, health and nutrition
education, law enforcement, parks and recreation, elections, state and local government finance and employment, federal
government finance and employment, defense, human services, labor, income and expenditures, prices, banking and finance
business, communications and information technology, energy, science and technology, transportation, agriculture, natural resources
construction and housing, manufactures and trade. Tables provide summary statistics with footnotes indicating sources for
detailed data.
