Dear Diary

Antoinette Marie

This is Antoinette.

Whew! It's been a while, friends, since I sent you my cute little newsletter. Let me catch you up to speed on life since I wrote.

-I got a new job. I wear suits. I have business cards. I have an office with a door. And I have to constantly ask myself, "Is my current behavior/attitude/hangover office appropriate?" Guess I should stop taking disco naps under my desk. We have an open door policy.

-There's been an explosion of celeb gossip just within the last two weeks. Too bad Britney didn't put up a video of her buzz cut in action on YouTube like the now famous bride freakout stunt video. (At least the bride video is a fake publicity stunt- I think we need to use words a little more heavy than "stunt" to describe Britney's situation). Then there's the Anna Nicole tragedy which is marred with the ongoing who's-the-daddy-of-Danielynn-connect-the-dots-game. It's really turning into an unfortunate and confusing flow chart on Anna's sexual adventures. Britney, I hope Anna Nicole's story is a lesson to you...

-And then there's Capitol Hill. My other favorite gossip zone. Dems are drawing a line in the sand and choosing their teams in a schoolyard-like situation that's one part fisticuffs and one part Red Rover. It's called Hilary vs. Obama, and this fight is here to stay. (I don't think these two will put down their guns anytime soon for a round of kickball. Though it would be great if someone kicked sand in someone's face. I'm just sayin'.) And Republicans, well, with your low approval ratings and never-ending scandals, you're getting what you deserve... like when Biff got socked by George in Back to the Future.

-Good news: Judy Chicago's "Dinner Party" will find a permanent home at the Brooklyn Museum after March 23, housed in the new Elizabeth A. Sackler Center for Feminist Art. This installation was created from 1974-1979, and depicts place settings for famous mythological and real women throughout history. Created by a team of female artists led by Judy Chicago, the piece was "meant to end the ongoing cycle of omission in which women were written out of the historical record." Definitely opens a new chapter in the installation's history; it hasn't been on view in years.

-Other good news: A friend tells me that Spring has ALMOST sprung- along with the good groundhog news , the hookers have returned to 3rd ave and 16th street in Brooklyn. The true first sign of spring.
