Paul grew up in Yakima, Washington and attended Whitman College in Walla, Walla, WA.
After graduating from Whitman in 1986 with a BA in Art, Paul had his first solo exhibition at
The Maryhill Museum of Art, in Washington State. He continued to paint and decided to
venture East to pursue an MFA in painting and sculpture at Columbia University in Manhattan. While studying at
Columbia, Paul became interested in metal work, especially welding and forging. After completing his degree in 1989,
he began to develop a distinct line of metal furniture. His handwrought designs were unique and had a beautiful sculptural quality.
He sold his pieces through showrooms, stores and at several trade shoes. A few years later he started his own handmade jewelry display
business, called Blue Store.
Paul continues to make lamps and custom metal work, but is currently hoping to renew a career in painting.
