Important Registration Information for Liberal Arts and Sciences Students

Please read carefully; we want you to graduate on time.

History

You cannot take HIS125 and either HIS121 or HIS122 (you will not receive credit for both). You cannot take HIS126 with either HIS114 or HIS115 (you will not receive credit for both).

Biology

Credit cannot be earned for both BIO120 and BIO130/BIO131. If you complete BIO120, do not register for BIO130 or BIO131.

Elective Courses

All elective courses must be at the 100 level or higher. If you are unsure what to take, please speak with an academic advisor.

Transfer Credit/Advance Placement

If you have transfer credits from another institution, have taken the advance placement exam, or have taken a CLEP exam, please send the department an official transcript as soon as possible.

Language Requirement

If you receive an 85 or higher on your high school Regents Exam in a foreign language, please bring an official copy of your high school transcript to the office as soon as possible. If you did not receive an 85 or higher, you must complete a foreign language level 2 or higher to graduate. If you have a learning disability, please contact Malka Edelman at (631) 420-2411.

Physical Science

If you take a Physical Science course (PHY110 - 122), you also enroll in PHY125 (Lab). If take a second Physical Science course, you will need to enroll in PHY126 (Lab). You will need both labs to graduate if you take decide to take two courses; PHY126 is never offered during the Summer.
