The Digestive System

The Digestive System is responsible for supplying the body with a constant supply of energy. The digestive system converts the food that you eat into energy for your body to function. Digestion is the process of breaking down food into usable materials for energy. Absorption is the process of transferring the digested food into the circulation for transport. The alimentary canal is also called the digestive tract.
