While many may not believe fresh produce is available in the northeast during the winter, greenhouses are starting to see more activity. Regardless, sprouts, such as broccoli and beans, can flourish during this season. As such, we offer some dishes mixing what can be grown with what is at our local greenhouses.

Homemade Chili: Soup is a staple of wintery foods and chili is no exception. Our chili is cooked with fresh local produce which is then frozen to maintain freshness. One quart serves four comfortably. Great for company and be sure to serve with shredded cheese! $10

Broccoli & Cheese Quiche: This delicious treat can be served up at anytime of the day by a simple zap of the microwave or a few minutes in the oven. Made with local brocolli and organic cheddar from Vermont, this quiche keeps for approximately 10 days of receipt. $15

Pad Thai Sauce with Sprouts: Mentioned above, sprouts are in season in the winter and Pad Thai sauce offers a great opportunity to take advantage of them. The sauce comes in a 16 oz. jar, which serves 6, and the sprouts are wrapped separately. To ensure freshness, serve the sprouts within 10 days. Pad Thai is a versatile sauce and can be prepared vegetarian or with chicken or shrimp. $12

Peach Orange Jam: Although not grown in the tri-state, organic peaches & oranges from Florida are readily available to make some delicious treats for the winter. Our jam is additive-free and will stay preserved for the rest of the season. Comes in a 6 oz. jar. $9
