Using a tool to instantly chat together. Examples include AIM, Meebo, or GoogleTalk.
Exercise: Dialogue
Send instant messenges to each other from the point-of-view of a two characters. When you have finished a small exchange, copy a record of the dialogue and edit out the unnecessary talk. Compare versions of your trimmed down dialogue and discuss why you kept or cut out dialogue.
