Second Family Reunion - 1990

Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

This was our first official Jaccard family reunion. This reunion started the tradition of meeting for an entire weekend at a location chosen by some of the family and voted on at the family dinner. Hosted by Al and Fran Jaccard, there was a wonderful family dinner party, which included music and dancing. The kids also had an activity table that kept them busy with various coloring and crafts during the dinner. The location for this reunion was perfect, since the older family members were able to sit under the gazebo and watch the young children in the pool. Jo, Mary, and Al were able to make it too. Many of the older family members flew on a plane for the first time to be able to meet the family at this amazing destination. At the end of the reunion, the family decided that we would meet every two years to catch up and enjoy each other's company. Every family member received a name tag to help everyone identify each other. This reunion also started the tradition of taking family photos during the dinner. Each nuclear family would group together and a photo would be taken to include in the scrapbook.

Third Family Reunion - 1992

Moneta, Virginia

For a change of pace, this reunion was held at a lake. The resort we stayed at was Bernard's Landing. There were many great activities for the kids including basketball and playing in the pool. Some very intense Scrabble matches and basketball games also took place over the weekend. Other people preferred just playing a relaxing game of tennis and just being spectators for the more intense family games. Many members of the family were even daring enough to go tubing or water skiing on the lake. One night the entire family gathered for dinner and a talent show. The Quartararos and Hunters performed the Three Little Pigs using puppets. Their daughters performed a Can-Can routine complete with real Can-Can dresses. Al played the guitar and sang with all the kids. The Clarks entertained everyone with a little shaving cream and an accordion.Tim Jaccard was the emcee and called each family to perform their skits. This was such a great idea and the hit of the weekend. There were many other memorable performances throughout the night that the rest of the family will never forget!

Dancing 1994

Fourth Family Reunion - 1994

Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

This reunion was hosted again by Al and Fran Jaccard. There were many fun activities that the family took advantage of. The best night was the family dinner where there was also dancing. Line dancing was a popular activity for the family at the dinner. Some of the southerners were teaching their northern relatives some easier line dancing moves. Getting together gave everyone the chance to see all our new additions to the family. The children just had so much fun at this reunion getting to know all their distant cousins who they only get to see every two years at the reunions. Some members of the family also created a giant family tree. Now everyone understood how they fit in to the larger family picture. The rest of the weekend was spent making sandcastles on the beach, swimming in the ocean, and having fun in the pool. Families also rented the sand bikes and rode all across the beach. The older group enjoyed walking on the boardwalk. As always, the Jaccards were building their famous sandcastles on the beach for all to enjoy.

Fifth Family Reunion - 1996

Virginia Beach, Virginia

The family gathered at the Holiday Inn Surfside Hotel. A total of 63 members attended this reunion, which was planned and hosted by Marlene and Walter. Not only did the family have fun at the beach, many took advantage of the other activities that were available in the area. A large group went to Busch Gardens and had a blast on the rollercoasters and other rides. Other groups enjoyed looking at the fish at the aquarium. Little Kelsey stole the show even at the beach. All the girls and Al enjoyed burying Brian in the sand. Other family members tried their hand at boogie boarding, even Alyssa. May, Danny, Marilyn, and Joe had more fun sitting on the chairs on the boardwalk where they were able to chat and watch all the children having fun on the beach. Virginia was a great place for all sorts of fun beach activities.

Sixth Family Reunion - 1998

Wildwood Crest, New Jersey

The northern contingent of the family won out on the voting and the reunion was held in New Jersey. This reunion was hosted by Paulette and Joe Quartararo. Fifty-four people attended. Many activities were planned for the whole weekend. Besides the traditional family dinner, there was also an informal B.B.Q. held by the pool. This informal atmosphere allowed all the family members time to catch up and add all our new additions to the family tree. Our traditional dinner was held at a wonderful Italian restaurant. Most of the family spent their time on the boardwalk or on the beach. One of the most successful activities was the sand castle building contest, which has become a tradition for the family. For the family that still remained on the last night another informal dinner was planned. Everyone had so much fun at the Captain's Table, especially Joe and Walter!
