Theodor Bertram

Theodor Bertram: German baritone (12 Feb 1869 - 24 Nov 1907), son of baritone Heinrich Bertran and soprano Marie Bertram. He made his debut in Ulm in 1889. He also appeared with the Hamburg Opera (1891), the Kroll Opera (1892), the Munich Royal Opera (1883-99), and with the Metropolitan Opera (1899-1901). He made appearances in Chicago, Philadelphia, Boston, and Vienna as well as in many more cities. He was married to soprano Fanny Moran-Olden. After her death he began to drink heavily and eventually committed suicide. Especially known for his Mozart and Wagner roles.
