Inspired by the work of artists as diverse as Judy Collins, Duke Ellington, Bessie Smith, George Gershwin, and Patsy Cline, Caroline's music tells the story of real lives over the centuries of American experience. Caroline has opened for Pete Seeger, Robert Ross, and Susan McKeown and the Chanting House.

"Make Me A Pallet on the Floor" is a Southern traditional, performed in the past by blues legends such as Mississippi John Hurt and Doc Watson.
