In Austin, Richard purchased a large bungalow on K Street which he redesigned from top to bottom. Its den has a nautical color scheme and is filled with artifacts that Richard and his friends collected while on spring break in Padre Island, TX.
When Richard met Maggie May in Oak Ridge, WV, her trailer was dilapidated. Its roof leaked, and its interior had been trashed. Richard lavished care on the trailer's restoration, fixing the roof first. He painted its exterior a luminous black, and paneled its living room in warm browns. He commissioned the space-saving cabinets and sofas shown here from local craftsmen.
After graduating from the School of Supreme Consciousness in Santa Fe, NM, Richard spearheaded a 10-year community development project. The Temple of Spiritual Enlightenment is the crown jewel of this enterprise. Richard's design of its interior sanctuary is heavily influenced by his travels in the Far East.
