Dan and Skye have been picking and singing at Wayne's Body Shop since 2000. Dan realized that the community at Wayne's, and especially the music, had to be captured on film. He asked his friend (and later wife) Skye to help do it. Together they have recorded and filmed the Saturday nights at Wayne's since 2002, amassing an incredible amount of footage.

Dan is an American historian by trade and brings to the film a deep background in old time Appalachian music, traditional country, and bluegrass music. He is the author of Henry Watterson and the New South: The Politics of Empire, Free Trade, and Globalization (2006). Dan plays the banjo, fiddle, upright bass, and guitar.

Skye brings technical knowledge and professionalism to the film. She drew on her extensive background in the film and television world, where she worked as an associate producer at 60 Minutes and New York Times Television.

Together Dan and Skye have created a film that perfectly captures the essence of Wayne's.
