Tod's point is part of the Greenwich Town Park and refers to the area once owned by banking magnate, J. Kennedy Tod. Tod bought the land in 1889 and built a mansion, golf course, and bird sanctuary at the tip of his property. In 1945, the land was purchased by the Town of Greenwich. While the mansion and golf course, except for a few rock gardens and walls, no longer remain, the bird sanctuary has been lovingly maintained and is appreciated by bird watchers young and old for the variety of birds that can be viewed in a most natural habitat.
