The Smithtown Historical Society offers programs for school age children that allow children to hold history in their hands. Throughout the year, children from all around Long Island visit the Historical Society for School Programs, Girl Scout Programs, Boy Scout Programs, and Portals to the Past Programs,

The Smithtown Historical Society is home to thousands of artifacts and archival materials of significance to American history. Situated on over twenty acres of land in the heart of the Township, the Historical Society owns or administers over fourteen historic structures.
