Glacier Bridge

The Glacier Bridge crosses the Nisqually River about 1 mile down Hwy. 706 from Christine Falls, providing a spectacular view of the area at the end of Nisqually Glacier.

Be Prepared:
  • Stopping your vehicle on the bridge is not recommended, so park in the paved pullout at either end of the bridge and use the walkway.

  • Though there is little traffic, please use extreme caution when crossing the bridge.

What to Expect:
  • The Nisqually River and moraine left behind by Nisqually Glacier as it has receded up the mountain.

  • The lower end of Nisqually Glacier is just 1 mile up the valley, right around the rocky cliff on the left side as you look up.
