Come and visit the Smithtown Historical Society to learn about Smithtown's legends, stories and
accounts from generations past. See artifacts and archives from the area, passed down for generations.
Completes Requirements 4f and 7c
Learn the magic of colors as we discover all the possibilities when you mix yellow with blue or
blue with red. Children will then draw their own cartoons to use in a zoetrope.
Completes Elective 12
Learn the tricks of the trade as we travel through time and reveal the techniques of secret
communication. Work with invisible ink and learn how to use a Wheel Cipher. If time allows, we will
create our own secret method of communication.
Completes Elective 1
Help celebrate a Victorian Christmas as we make our own party decorations and gifts. Scouts
will learn about Victorian traditions and see which ones still exist today.
