We recommend groups be no larger than 25 students. Programs require four adults to aid in the supervision of the hands on activities. Both the Tavern and Farm programs are available for scheduling of two classes in the same time slot.

A $50 deposit is required 21 days prior to your visit. The Historical Society is unable to accept cash as payment for programs. Please make checks payable to:

The museum will be closed if the Smithtown School District closes for inclement weather.

Appropraite behavior is required of all visitors. We ask that all visitors respect the historic nature of the Museum and that cell phones be turned off during programs.

To make the most of the experience, children are encouraged to dress in period clothing. During your visit, you may walk a short distance between houses. We ask taht all visitors dress appropriately as walkways are not paved.

The Museum Store is only open to students during their lunch period. Items sold complement program activities. Prices range from $1.00 to $12.00. An inventory sheet will be mailed prior to your visit.
