Granny Square

This block can be used for larger projects by combining them.
To begin chain 6 and join in a ring with a slip stitch.
Round 1
- chain 3
- 2 double crochet stitches in ring
- chain 2
- (3 double crochet stiches in ring, chain 2)
- Repeat last row 3 times
- slip stitch in top of beginning chain of round to close
- fasten off
Round 2
- join new color with a slip stitch in first chain space
- chain 3
- (2 double crochet stiches, chain 2, 3 double crochet stitches)
in same space to form corner
- (chain 1, 3 double crochet stiches in ring, chain 2, 3 double crochet
stiches in next chain 2 space)
- repeat 3 more times to form remaining corners
- slip stitch in top of beginning chain of round to close
- fasten off
Round 3
- join new color with a slip stitch in first chain space
- chain 3
- (2 double crochet stiches in ring, chain 2, 3 double crochet stitches)
in same space to form corner
- (chain 1, 3 double crochet stiches) in each chain 1 space
(along the side)
- (chain 1, 3 double crochet stiches, chain 2, 3 double crochet
stiches) in next chain 2 space(creates corner)
- repeat the last two lines for remaining sides
- slip stitch in top of beginning chain of round to close
- fasten off
Round 4
- repeat round 3 as many times as desired for the size you want
