Half Double Crochet Pattern

This can be used as a applique or the center of a larger project.
To begin chain 6 and join in a ring with a slip stitch.
Round 1
- chain 2
- work 23 single crochet into ring
- slip stitch in 2nd chain at beginning of round to close
Round 2
- chain 4
- 1 half double stitch in the same chain as last slip stitch
- chain 1
- (skip 2 stiches, 1 double crochet in next stitch, chain 2,
1 double crochet, chain 1)
- Repeat last row 7 times
- slip stitch in 2nd chain at beginning of round to close
Round 3
- chain 2
- (1 half double stitch, chain 2, 2 half double) in last2 chains at beginning of round
2
- 1 single crochet in the 1 chain space
- (2 half double stiches, chain 2, 2 half double stiches) in chain 2 space.
1 single crochet stitch in the chain 1 space
- Repeat last row 6 times
- slip stitch in 2nd chain at beginning of round to close
Round 4
- (3 double crochet stitches, chain 1, 3 double crochet stiches)
in the chain 2 space, 1 single crochet on each side of the single crochet
- Repeat the last row 8 times
- join and fasten off
